Summer Car Care Tips for the Ultimate Road Trip

The official start of summer is just around the corner once again, and that means it’s time to start planning your next road trip. Before you hit the highway, it’s important to stay on top of some basic car maintenance to ensure your ride can rise to the occasion. Not sure where to start? Check out our list of the most essential summer car care tips and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime.

Oil

Routinely changing your vehicles motor oil is one of the easiest ways to keep everything in good shape for years to come. If you’re embarking on a particularly long road trip, it’s always a good idea to change the oil ahead of time and monitor it throughout the trip.

Tires

The condition of your car’s tires can affect most other major systems of your vehicle, so it’s important to stay onto of them. Before your road trip, make sure your tires are properly inflated, have adequate ate tread, and are aligned.

Coolant

Nothing puts a damper on a road trip quite like a break down, and few things cause a breakdown as sure as improper coolant levels. This summer, make sure your engine coolant stays at an optimal level to avoid being stranded.

Battery

Finally, be sure to take a look at your vehicle’s battery before your trip. If it’s a few years old, you should test the battery to ensure it still holds adequate charge and replace it if not.
